We didn’t mean to keep our story quiet. Here at MILTON HERSHEY SCHOOL, we’ve been quietly helping children in need for 100 years. But, did you know your powerful part in our story?

Once upon a time, a man of perseverance, determination and heart, fell in love and married. Together, he and his wife built a business and a city… but sadly, not a family. To fill the place in their hearts meant for children, they founded a school for children in need… and it grew… and the children flourished. The man lost his precious wife but remained committed to the school they built together and the children that filled their hearts. He cared so passionately for their shared project, that he devoted virtually his entire fortune to its future… and the future of the children it served.

And, he made it so that every person who loved his chocolate helped the children, too. You see, every time you’ve enjoyed his products, you’ve supported a safe and nurturing environment and excellent education to guide them into adulthood.

We didn’t mean for it to be a secret… it is just what we do. So, why are we telling you now?

Milton and Catherine Hershey started MILTON HERSHEY SCHOOL 100 years ago, and we are proudly celebrating an anniversary and the generations of children who have grown to support communities across this great nation. Since you’ve been part of it from the beginning… we thought you should know.

And, we thought it might be time for you to help us tell the story to others. The more people who know our story, the more children we can help. Telling the story will make more communities aware that MILTON HERSHEY SCHOOL is a possibility for their children at risk.

The more parents struggling to provide a safe home for their children know about the school, the more they may find MILTON HERSHEY SCHOOL to be the partner they need to guide their child to a better future.

The more people that learn about the nurturing houseparents and staff that embrace these children in ways that will nourish and inspire them, the more people will apply for staff positions at the school.

It’s simple. The more people that learn our story… and become part of our story… the more children become part of yours.
